What we do

Thematic Areas

Child protection/GBV

Formation and training of child protection committees, community dialogue meetings, and support to community led initiatives on child protection, translation of key legal and policy documents into local languages, data collection on violation of children’s rights and supporting formal education for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Northern Somalia.

Livelihoods Support

Provision of sustainable and profitable means of livelihoods, training of Income Generating Activities and financial management, support to Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs’) to attain vocational skills and provision of basic start up tool kits to beneficiaries War affected children in the community.

Emergency and relief

Provision of food aid, training in food security and agricultural rehabilitation to formerly displaced returnees, people affected by drought.

This is a cross-cutting activity in all the programmes of SSCR. It is an integrated activity. CCYA is supporting 20 orphans and vulnerable children by provision of scholastic materials, school fees and basic materials. We are getting a very big challenge in terms of funding considering the level of poverty resulting from the 20-year war. There are many OVCs that need support but the financial capacity of CCYA can not support beyond the 20 beneficiaries.

Health services

SSCRV has always played an important role in health promotion aimed at improving access to health to Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs’). Connects low-income families with basic resources that can benefit their Overall health and well-being.

Nutrition Services

SSCRV aims to transform the lives of people particularly men, women, girls and children – by improving their nutrition and works to end hunger through the administration of nutrition services programs, and school meals. We need to break down silos, disrupt the status quo, and put the people we serve and the challenges they face at the centre of all we do.

What we care for

New life for children, in a new land

We have built shelter homes in different regions so children can move out of undeveloped areas to live, study and work in bigger and better cities.

Bringing dreams within reach for children

The underprivileged children do not have access to required financial help and resources needed to live the life of their dreams. We help them with everything they’ll need to live their dreams.
